When photographing Places I often look for the relevant but not the obvious, so although for example 'Tower Bridge' is relevant with regard to place, the position from which I shot and the crop I use makes it less obviously itself.

The angle from which a building, say, is photographed can completely transform its otherwise expected image whilst retaining its architectural integrity. I often look to enhance the atmosphere of a particular place by using black and white or tonal changes.
